Anachem Conference The 14th Detroit Anachem Conference will be held at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center, Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich., Oct. 11 through 13. This meeting is sponsored by the Association of Analytical Chemists and the Detroit Section of the Optical Society of America. In addition to invited and contributed papers, there will be a large exhibit featuring the latest developments in scientific instrumentation. The following sessions are planned : Analysis for Water and Air Pollutants Optical Emission and Absorption Spectroscopy, Emission Spectroscopy, Flame Photometry, Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy Thin Layer Chromatography Molecular Weight Determinations Clinical and Biochemical Analysis General Chemistry and Instrumentation Chromatography, Electrochemistry, Instrumentation. Seminar on Gel Permeation Chromatography The Third International Seminar on Gel Permeation Chromatography will be held May 19 and 20 in Geneva, Switzerland. The program includes formal presentations from specialists from England, France, Japan, West Germany, and the United States. In addition to the scheduled papers, there will be discussion periods with topics introduced from the participants. Registration fee from the two-day meeting is 150 Frs. (about $35). At the banquet to be held Thursday evening the keynote address, "The Challenge of War and Peace," will be given by M. V. Duckworth-Barker who is in charge of Special Projects Information Service, European Office of the United Nations.
