THERMOSWITCH * THERMOSTAT
Guards Still Condensate System Against Failure of Coolant

Laboratory users everywhere continue to report new and striking applications of THERMOSWITCH* All-Purpose Thermostats. For example, as shown in this diagram of a still condensate system, if the condenser cold water supply fails, steam blows out the condenser tube end. To secure the instant detection needed, it was found that only the THERMOSWITCH* unit provided the necessary sen sitivity. Exposed to the escaping steam, it shuts off the electric current to the heaters at once at the same time closing the alarm circuit. Accurate, fast operation is assured by the exclusive THERMOSWITCH* principle. The activating element is the single-metal, temperature-sensitive shell which, in di rect contact with the ambient temperature, expands with out lag, causing the contacts inside to open. Besides its use as a detecting device, this shock-andvibration-resistant thermostat provides a versatile labo ratory heating control for solids, liquids and gases — one instrument may be put to many uses!
