The di vision and its personnel are both oriented to analytical methods and
techniques and not to a particular area of research. This division, made up of personnel formerly dis persed among several research di visions, is large and the personnel have a better opportunity to ob tain a variety of experience and to develop their special aptitudes. I t is also easier under this arrange ment for supervisors to spot prom ising men for promotion by either route. Another advantage of the re organization has been evident in technical recruiting.
