OPERATING PRINCIPLE—Raw water passes in series through two reactor t a n k s containing high-speed, highcapacity ion-exchange resins. These resins h a v e the p r o p e r t y of adsorbing a n d exchanging all the cations a n d anions in t h e water supply, giving an effluent water t h a t is equal i n purity t o distilled water. N o heat, no fuel, no cooling water involved in the process. Units are compact, requiring small floor space and little attention. There a r e only a few simple valves a n d m i n i m u m piping. T h e range of flow r a t e s is practically limitless. W a t e r is used here as a n example, but t h e same o p e r a t i n g principle applies to t h e De-ionization o f any liquid.
