An interested, independent, outside organization* conducted rigorous tests with four well-known industrial threads — Bemis Acid-Resistant Thread, a widely used synthetic filament thread, a n d two other competing threads. Two samples of each thread were b u r i e d in t r i p l e s u p e r p h o s p h a t e (0-45-0). One set of samples was placed in a h i g h - h u m i d i t y r o o m (100°, 90% R. H.) openly exposed. A second set was kept under more
normal conditions (73°, 50% R . H.). After twelve weeks in the superphosphate, the samples were removed and tested for tensile strength. Bemis Acid-Resistant Thread and t h e synthetic filament (long considered t o set t h e top standard) came o u t with almost exactly the same score . . . and both were substantially ahead of the other two threads.
