available 4 ways . . . T h i s large, fully-equipped plant was designed for m a g n e s i u m metals p r o d u c t i o n from dolomite by the Ferro Silicon P r o c e s s . Furnaces, kilns a n d processing equipment are in place, ready n o w for full-scale production. Its o w n r a w material ( d o l o m i t e ) quarry site lies two miles S. E. of the plant. An overhead t r a m is installed which operates on a right-of-way between the plant and quarrv. A self-contained unit, it's complete to the last detail. T h e buildings and structures of this plant are readily adaptable for use in a variety of light metal manufacturing p u r p o s e s . R e d u c ­ tions of such light metals as calcium and barium can be m a d e by the thermal vacuum method, the smelting process of this plant. LOCATION: T h e 2 0 3 - a c r e plant site and its 10 5-acre d o l o m i t e quarry are strategically located within 100 miles of such d i s t r i b u t i o n p o i n t s as: N e w Y o r k City ( 6 0 m i l e s ) ; Hartford, C o n n . (50 miles); B r i d g e p o r t , Conn. (45 m i l e s ) ; P o u g h k e e p s i e (20 miles). M o s t n o r t h e r n N e w Jersey cities are within 60 or 70 miles. T h e plant is served by three branch sidings of the N e w Y o r k Central Railroad; inner plant r o a d s c o n n e c t with N e w Y o r k State H i g h w a y N o . 2 2. All utilities are available. BUILDINGS: At the plant site are 20 b u i l d i n g s and structures, largest of w h i c h is the R e t o r t Furnace Building, a 2-story, fully fireproof structure of reinforced c o n c r e t e construction, with cinder b l o c k walls, steel truss roof framing a n d c o r r u g a t e d asbestos roof. It has 1 0 ' to 14' h e a d r o o m on 1st floor and 2 3' clearance to truss o n 2 n d floor. T h e s e c o n d floor con­ sists of t w o 5 0 ' bays with a designed floor l o a d of 120 l b s . p e r sq. ft. It is p r o v i d e d with 4 o n e - t o n overhead traveling cranes a n d all necessary utilities. O t h e r structures include office, laboratory, s h o p s , s h i p p i n g and miscellaneous p r o c e s s space. Total floor area all buildings—ap­
