Take the recently completed collaborative research program we undertook in partnership with DSM on 7-ADCA. The challenge was to improve two enzymes suspected of limiting flux during fermentative production. Using our proprietary MolecularBreeding"'' technologies we were able to separately improve the activities of these enzymes in an in vivo system. This enzymatic 7-ADCA process has been scaled up and is now being used to manufacture product at commercial scale.
