Philips Electronic Instruments, Inc., a leading supplier of analytical instruments and a subsidiary of North American Philips Corp., has acquired ED AX International, Inc., a manufacturer of energy-dispersive X-ray analysis equipment. EDAX, located in Prairie View, 111., will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Philips. Philips can now offer fully optimized X-ray systems for either energy or wavelength-dispersive techniques.
