Sensitivity is stated as 5 0 ng of methyl stéarate w i t h 3 : 1 S / N ratio f o r t h e molecular i o n , over a f u l l spectrum scan of o n e sec. Even if ordered as a free-standing i n s t r u m e n t , complete interfacing f o r c o m p u t e r operation is included. Later installation ôf a gc in t h e field requires only simple t u b i n g connection. Two-cable connect i o n permits interfacing w i t h t h e HP m i n i c o m p u t e r which is p r o g r a m m e d for spectrometer control a n d data reduction.
