EAS 2000 he 39th Annual Eastern Analytical Symposium and Exposition (EAS) will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ, from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3. The meeting is sponsored by the Division of Analytical Chemistry and the New York and North Jersey Sections of the American Chemical Society; the American Microchemical Society; the Chromatography Forum of Delaware Valley; the New York Microscopical Society; and the Delaware Valley, New England, and New York Sections of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy. An exposition of scientific instruments and supplies and oral and poster sessions are scheduled from Monday, Oct. 30, through Thursday, Nov. 2. Approximately 325 booths from over 250 companies are anticipated. The technical program will feature the following symposia honoring this year’s award recipients: the Award for Outstanding Achievements in the Fields of Analytical Chemistry—Isiah Warner; the Award for Achievements in NearInfrared Spectroscopy—Tony Davies; the Award for Achievements in Separation Science—Peter Carr; the Award for Achievements in Magnetic Resonance—Hans Spiess; the Galactic Industries Award for Achievements in Chemometrics—Svante Wold; the New York Section of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy Gold Medal Award—James Robinson; the American Microchemical Society Benedetti–Pichler Memorial Award—Andy Ewing; the Analytical Division of the
