PVC Pipe meets your corrosion problems. It is increasingly popular for processing use. PVC pipe is low in cost, light in weight and corrosion-resistant to most acids, alkalies, salts and gases. An exceptionally acid-resistant PVC pipe is now being produced by Stauffer's Molded Products Division. Immersed in 85% sulfuric acid for 30 days at 140°F, this pipe showed only l/50th of 1% loss in weight! Ordinarily, PVC pipe gains weight under these conditions.
