The winners of the annual National Chemistry Week (NCW) poster contest were announced on November 20, 2009. The 2009 theme, Chemistry: It is Elemental!, focused on the 140th anniversary of

the periodic table of the elements. Students in grades from kindergarten through 12 were invited to display their artistic talents to highlight various uses of the elements and the roles they play in our lives.
