Standard X-Ray Diffraction Powder Patterns is the title of Monograph 25, Section 2, of the Bureau of Standards, by Howard E. Swanson, Marlene C. Morris, Roger Stinchfield, and Eloise H. Evans. It presents 37 standard x-ray diffraction powder patterns, and includes data on such compounds as cadmium cyanide, cesium chloroosmate, dysprosium gallium oxide 3:5, lithium tungstate hemihydrate, potas sium nitroso chlororuthen ate, and strontium arsenate. The 46-page booklet may be obtained from the Superintendent of Documents, U.S. Government Printing Office, Wash ington 25, D.C., for 35 cents.
Journals rarely held by U.S. libraries and containing needed information for the scientist are being made accessible by the Midwest Inter-Library Center, 5721 Cottage Grove Ave., Chicago, 111., 60637. The center subscribes to every journal abstracted in Chemical Abstracts and Biological Abstracts that is not held by any MILC member library. Since MILC libraries include some of the largest scientific libraries in the U.S., journals not available in them are not likely to be held by anv other library in the country. MILC has published a list of the journals it can supply and the list can be sent free to any library requesting it.
Microscope is the title of a newly reorganized journal on microscopy which incorporates Crystal Front. Warner Hudson, McCrone Research Institute, 451 East 31st St., Chicago 16, 111., is the agent for Microscope in this country. Rates are S3.50 for six bimonthly issues.

Compressed air serving bar and strip mills at Bethlehem Steel Com pany's Lackawanna plant is dried by this Type BZ-25 Lectrodryer.
Compressed air that's dry boosts efficiency and dependability "In the summer, efficiency of all operations was reduced by moisture in the compressed air. In the winter, we had to add alcohol to the system to prevent freezeups." These worries have disappeared since driers were added to air compressors at Bethlehem's Lacka wanna plant. Steel mills employ compressed air in many ways. For example, where controls of mill movements are pneumatic, there must be no ice, rust or mud to interfere with instrument functions. Scarfing operations require dry air for most efficient operation. Air tools work best when supplied dry air. Your operations may suffer from mois Air compressors are located ture in compressed air, in the atmosphere inside the power plant adja* cent to this Lectrodryer, or in organic liquids you are using. There are Lectrodryers to solve all these problems. For information concern ing them, contact Lectrodryer Division, McGraw-Edison Company, 305 32nd Street, Pittsburgh 30, Pennsylvania

PULSAFEEDER combines the best fea tures of plunger and diaphragm pumps. Its plunger provides accu rate displacement. Its hydraulically balanced diaphragm isolates chem icals from working parts. There can be no leakage or contamination. That's why the PULSAFEEDER pro vides the ultimate in controlled fluid metering—anywhere from a few drops to 15.7 gallons per min ute. Just set it and forget it! PULSAFEEDER meters just about any thing that flows . . . by the drum or by the drop . . . under pressures to 10,000 psig . . . at temperatures from — 185°F to 1600°F.
