To solve a problem for a major instrument company we draw s e a m l e s s t u b i n g over t w o lengths of capillary tubing to make a tough, flexible, foolproof assembly for transmitting critical pressure changes. Posen & Kline produces Microdrawn* stainless steel and nickel alloy tubing up to % " OD in every conceivable finish, shape, tolerance, and ID to solve your tubing problems . . . s a t i s f y demanding tubing needs. Variable gradient analyzer uses a sin gle analytical column and a continu ous gradient of buffer solutions to de termine the amino acid composition of proteins, physiological fluids, and tissue extracts by automatic ion ex change chromatography. The eluting buffer is fed from a 1.2-liter, ninechambered gradient-producing de vice. Though only one buffer, pH 2 . 9 1 , and an 0 . 8 M sodium citrate solution are required, the shape of the gradient can be altered by modifying the proportions used in the chambers or by varying the number of chambers used in combination. Analysis of a protein hydrolyzate may be completed in 24 hours using a single sample, and requiring only an hour of operat ing time to prepare the instrument. Bull. VG-6000.
