Our Μ ΕΚ fits so many formulations that we're making more and more of it. We brought a new 25-million pound MEK plant on stream in '65. Not big news exactly, since methyl ethyl ketone has long been a basic solvent for coat ings, adhesives, inks. But our MEK was soon being gobbled up for PVC coatings. To the extent that we had to in crease capacity in '66. Later this year a 50% ex pansion will raise production to over 70-million pounds. That's a good example of how Celanese keeps its production constantly in line with the growing needs of the solvent market.

Another example. 2-ethyl hexanol. Our Bay City, Texas, plant is boosting capacity to 80-million pounds. Which should be good news to makers of plasticizers and surfactants. If you need solvents, see Celanese. We make them. Alcohols, ketones, esters and glycols. A sol vent to dissolve anything you need dissolved. And all the help you want in using it.
