Palointroduces NEW THIN-WALL KEARAL SINTERED ALUMINA

LABORATORY CRUCIBLES that offer unique resistance to REDUCING AGENTS · CONTAMINATION · THERMAL SHOCK PROPERTIES: Purity: 99.5%, + Porosity: 2% or less (by volume) Closed Pores Hardness: 9-Moh's. Scale-equivalent to sapphire Heat Conductivity: 0.017 9 cal/cm/ 0 C/sec Specific Heat: 0.26 cal/oc Specific Resistance: 101S ohm X cm Melting Point: 2050° C

Almost all metals and their alloys can be melted in these Kearal crucibles without contamination of the melt by the crucible. Made of alumina, one of the most chemically stable materials, by a new process which permits its fabrication in thin sections, it assures high re sistance to thermal shock. Examples of stability: Carbon and hydrocarbons will not reduce the crucible material at temperatures as high as 1700° C. Under the influence of hydrogen, no reaction with the crucible is observed at temperatures close to the melting point of alumina (2050° C ) .
