SFC student a w a r d nominations The Student Research Award in Supercritical Fluids for an outstanding publication describing research in the use of supercritical fluids in analytical chemistry will be presented at the 8th International Symposium on Supercritical Fluid Chromatography and Extraction in St. Louis, MO, on July 12-16, 199.. Judging will be based on technical content, research approach and originality, and writing style. Papers should describe original research in the application, development, or theory of supercritical fluids. The Research Award for Supercritical Fluids Commercialization for an outstanding publication describing a supercritical fluidbased process that is being commercialized (or that has the potential to be commercialized) , is also being presented. Judging will be based on technical content (including the effect of the process on the environment, energy, and economics), research approach and originality, and writing style. Each award consists of a plaque and $250 and will be presented to an undergraduate or graduate student who served as the primary author of a paper published (or accepted for publication) during 1997. Review papers will not be accepted for either award. Interested students should submit a reprint of the article and a letter from the faculty co-author (i.e., major professor) specifically verifying that the research was primarily conducted by the student, though publication may have occurred following employment and/or graduation, and that the student is the principal author.
