Quality craftsmanship.
It went into the 1937 Cord. It goes into every piece of Union Carbide specialty gases handling hardware. The '37 Cord. A classic of crafts manship. Made with the same dedication to quality that now goes into Union Carbide specialty gases handling hardware. Every piece of hardware is designed with special features. Stainless steel is used for bodies,
diaphragms, and many internal parts of our regulators for corro sive gases. Seals and seats are either "Teflon" or "Kel-F" plastic. Regulators for high purity gases have inboard leak rates as low as 2 χ 10~10 sec/sec of helium. Many specialty gases regula tors are designed for one specific application only, such as one model made from a metal alloy which is resistant to the corrosive effects of hydrogen chloride. Others are constructed to with stand extremely high pressure, up to 6000 psig.
The specialty gases hardware line includes shutoff valves, filters, manifolds, hoses and fittings, and many other items to control and measure specialty gases. All are de signed for the varied characteristics of the particular gases with which they will be used. And all specialty gases hardware is built to meet Union Carbide's standard of excellence.
