NEW POLYETHYLENE GLYCOLS IN THE GAFANOL® S E R I E S The addition of three new higher-molecular-weight glycols makes available a range of seven products in the Gafanol series. These ethylene-oxide-derived polymers range in physical form from liquids to waxy solids and have varied functional properties including complete water-solubility, mild hygroscopicity, lubricity, plasticizing action, and chemical reactivity. They are low in toxicity... inert to many chemicals... and can be depended on for consistently high quality and uniformity. The broad range of properties available in Gafanol polyethylene glycols makes them useful in a variety of products and processes including the manufacture of chemical specialties such as nonionic surfactants (by esterification with fatty acids), polymers, and plasticizers. In rubber and textiles, their value as lubricants is enhanced by their water solubility — they are easily applied and removed.
