ACS Biomater. Sci. Eng. 2019 5 (1), 139−148, DOI: 10.1021/acsbiomaterials.8b00249 in all raw files, the actual published image was not found as part of the original data set. It is possible that the published image was formed during an inaccurate z-stacking attempt. However, as the authors cannot be certain about the validity of the image, and to uphold the integrity of scientific practices in reporting data, the authors retract this Article. Raw data files related to Figure 4b are represented as follows.

T

he authors retract this Article due to an error in Figure 4b, which depicted the growth of glioma cells in a 3D brain ECM mimicking scaffold. Some of the cells in the image were repeated, which has cast doubt on the validity of the image. The authors went back to the raw images from the confocal microscope recorded from different z-sections (shown below) and verified the presence of live cells at different depths of scaffold. Although the evidence of cell viability was observed

The figure shows the raw data related to the published Figure 4b (left single micrograph) and z-sections from same area (right panels 1−16). Both show live cells at different sections of the scaffold. However, Figure 4b shows repeated additional cells (marked in yellow box) in the single raw-image which could not be explained. Further, there is an additional error in Figure 6h. The image of a patient tumor biopsy sample was misplaced as a PDX image. However, the images were correctly represented in Figure 7b. The original Article was published on May 3, 2018 and retracted on July 26, 2019.
