Wilson, Inc., and is finding use in other safety applications as well, s u c h as securing covers of various types o f pressure vessels against unsafe opening. T h e safety release pressure bolt is actuated by the pressure within the vessel.
A hole through the bolt bod> conducts the fluid under pressure to a piston within t h e bolt head and causes the handle bar t o b e moved and held out of bolt-turning position. W h e n under pressure the handle may be freely rotated without imparting turning movement to the bolt proper. W h e n the pressure is released the handle automatically returns to bolt-turning position and the member secured by the bolt may be safely removed. S 1
