ot only can you perform routine evaporations more quickly and more easily with a Rinco Rotating Vacuum-Type Evaporator, but you can step up the rate of evaporation four to five times— depending on the solvent used! Bumping is elimi nated. All this is possible only because the Rinco utilizes the principle of the spreading out of a thin film over a large area and subjecting it to negative pressure. It's excellent for use with biological extracts or heat sensitive compounds as no tempera ture increases are necessary to produce evaporation. A unit consists of a monel or stainless steel shaft rotating on oilite bronze bearings within a monel or stainless steel housing which has a take-off leading to a pump or aspirator. Flask fits onto the machined standard taper joint at the lower end of the shaft. The Small Evaporator has a 12/30 take-off and a 19/38 Τ joint for flasks up to 1 liter capacity.
