Schultz,* and Chi-Huey Wong* To better accommodate the frequent requests for reagents to genetically incorporate unnatural amino acids into proteins, the expression vectors and conditions for a large number of distinct amino acids have now been standardized for Escherichia coli and Pichia pastoris. Regrettably, we have found that for the isolated case of glycosylated amino acids we are unable to incorporate them under these conditions or those originally described (and note complexities with nonsense suppression and cellular availability). Therefore, until we are in a position to distribute these clones and define a set of robust conditions for their use, we withdraw our 2004 JACS Communication.
