ISOPAR® solvents help coatings fight off corrosion. Recent laboratory tests show that coatings made with Exxon ISOPAR Κ solvent (Test Panel A) fight off rust better than those made with Rule 66 Mineral Spirits (Test Panel B). Our highpurity isoparaffins have lower surface tensions than conven tional solvents, so Exxon scientists think that may be the reason ISOPAR Κ solvent helped a fish-oil-based alkyd primer penetrate rust so well. The laboratory tests are discussed in a research paper, "Improved Corrosion Resistance with ISOPAR Solvent/' available on request.

Exxon has more than 30 process oils and solvents which do not have to be labeled as carcinogenic under current OSHA criteria. The products range from ultra-pure isoparaffin solvents for flexographic inks to a highviscosity, economical newsprint oil. They're all discussed in our new brochure, 'Έχχοη Products for Ink Manufacture."
Exxon offers free pocket guide to petroleum solvents. "Exxon Solvents at a Glance" puts 20 key properties of our petroleum solvents at your fingertips in a handy 3-inch-by-6-inch pamphlet. It's a convenient way to compare volatility/viscosity relationships among 28 popular Exxon solvents, and it's helpful for homing in on the exact purity level you need for your application. The pamphlet also contains quickreference charts on our solvents' distillation ranges and flash points.
