Texaco is basic in petrochemicals . . . from the wellhead to your mixing head Building on a substantial base, Texaco has recently committed over a half billion dollars to new and expanded petrochemical plants. Foremost is the Light Olefins plant which has a capacity of two billion pounds of ethylene, propylene and other basic building blocks. Our ethylene oxide units are being expanded by 40%. A new grassroots ethanolamines plant is now on stream which doubles our capacity of these versatile chemicals. Our cyclohexane unit capacity has been increased by 40%.

We have completed a new JEFFAMINE « polyoxypropyleneamines unit in Conroe. We have increased the production of Dimethylethanolamine, Aminopropylmorpholine and Ethylenediamine. Also, we have increased our capacity to produce polyols for urethane foams by 30%. Texaco produces chemicals in 17 plants in 7 countries and markets them in 73 countries—from oil to basic chemicals to highly sophisticated derivatives.
