Salary Range: $65,565 to $95,081 The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is recruiting for the position of Director, Bureau of Laboratories in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The position functions in a well-equipped, automated laboratory, with mobile capabilities, and employs approximately 90 people. This position is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of environmental laboratory programs involved in the testing and analysis of water, wastewater, milk, air contaminants, fuel, toxic materials and chemicals, soils, aquatic life, and insects. This position is also responsible for a Certification Program for laboratories producing environmental data submitted to the Commonwealth.
Princeton Environmental Institute PEI Fellows Program Princeton University seeks up to three outstanding interdisciplinary scholars for the Princeton Environmental Institute (PEI) Fellows Program. One-year postdoctoral fellowships, with the possibility of renewal, will be offered in various areas of the environmental field with particular emphasis on policy, economics and global change, biodiversity, industrial ecology, and the molecular aspects of environmental sciences.
Minimum ExperienceandTraining: A Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology, public health, or a field closely related to laboratory services and nine years of professional experience in the laboratory services field (four of the nine years of required experience must have included managerial and second-level supervisory experience); or any equivalent combination of education and experience which affords the applicant the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, and includes a minimum of four years of managerial and second-level supervisory experience.
Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant area of science, engineering, economics, or policy. The PEI Fellows form an interdisciplinary group of young scholars on the Princeton campus and have considerable latitude in defining a research program.
