The Hilton-Davis Chemical Co. has filed with the 8EC a registration state­ ment covering 35,000 shares of $1.00 par common stock that is to be offered at $22.75 a share by Distributors Group, Inc. The Liquid Carbonic Corp. for the nine months ended June 30, 1040, reports net profit of $785,240, equal to $1.12 on common. This compares with net profit of $441,402 or 63 cents a share for the nine months ended June 30, 1030. For the quarter ended June 30, 1040, net profit was reported as $1,000,078 or $1.44 a share. The president pointed out that, including provision of 10 per cent to pro­ vide for contingencies and including the increase in Canadian income and excess profits taxes as well as the new United States taxes, the total tax payment for

The U. S. Plywood Corp. and principal stockholders have sold a block of 50,000 shares to an underwriting group, the proceeds to be used for plant expansion. The company is prepared to manufacture airplane parts under the Vidal process, and is now supplying weldwood panels for the hulls of mosquito boats being manufactured by the Electric Boat Co. for the U. 8. Navy. For the six months ended June 30, 1940, the Victor Chemical Works reports profit of $485,845 or 70 cents a share, compared with $436,983 or 62 cents a share in the like period of 1939.
