bond energies, exists for every member in this family. We are not surprised that there are some correlations, which were reported by Datta and co-workers,l.’ between members of the family, including Datta and Singh’s XG from data on bond energies, the ‘Jcc coupling constants from I3C NMR data, Inamoto’s i scale from IR data, and the theoretical scale of Mullay, and between Taft’s substituent constants and Huheey’s scale.
