The Toxic Substances 5 Control Act makes this one

Concern with toxic substances has become so widespread that it now pervades almost all scientific activities. To under stand the nature of the toxic challenges that confront us, and to cope intelligently with the explosion of federal legis lation in this area—the Toxic Substances Control Act; the Occupational Safety and Health Act; the Consumer Prod uct Safety Act; the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act; and others—it has become a necessity to be knowledgeable in toxicology. This course provides an intensive introduction to the general principles of toxicology as well as the practical ap proaches that guide decision-making in the field. It is de signed for chemists and other scientists, managers, and ad ministrators who seek an up-to-date broad-based grounding in toxicology. The lecturers are leaders in their fields, rec ognized nationally for their expertise and teaching compe tence. The course will be of help to those who are prepar ing to take the accreditation examination of the American Board of Toxicology.
