Controllers are tested on plant simulations and on a real process involving temperature control. Chattering problem overcome with no sacrifice in performance.

Radial Migration of Particles in Hagen-Poiseuille Flow. T h e Kutta-Joukowski theory of lift is used to derive the transverse force on a particle in a shear field. When particle and suspending medium densities are equal, it is shown that the particles \vi11 migrate into a n annulus of radius 0.58R.

Evaporation rates of \vater, isopropyl alcohol, carbon tetrachloride, and toluene have been examined at various liquid temperatures, times of exposure and back pressures of vapor, using the jet tensimeter.
