One test tube is made of glass, the other, Vitreosil pure fused quartz. Most glass deforms at low temperatures where Vitreosil will withstand contin uous operation at temperatures up to 1100°C for extended periods of time. Unlike glass, Vitreosil can handle most common acid and corrosive materials in liquid or gaseous forms, even at high temperatures, with no reaction to the quartz.
