UV/VIS Photometer The 860 absorbance detector detects chromatographically separated c o m p o nents that absorb light in the 2 5 4 546-nm region t o 0.002 AUFS sensitivi ty. The instrument uses optical filters and a stable low-pressure mercury lamp source with a phosphor-coated tip. Under proper measuring conditions, it can detect sample components at pg levels. Data Module

A totally new, nonvoiding, high effi ciency, economical LC separations tool. The Waters Radial Compression Sepa ration System (RCSS) ensures con sistent reproducible results.

The data module is a printer/plotter in tegrator which automatically integrates liquid chromatographic peaks and cal culates results. It interacts with auto matic sample injectors to streamline sample analysis, and minimizes offscale drifting by automatically rezeroing after each analysis. Waters Associates 407

Chromatograph

New! Low Cost LC Pump The M-45 is a reliable solvent delivery system for dedicated, routine, or other LC ap plications.

The LC-50 low-pressure liquid chroma tograph is designed for columns having an external diameter of 6.35 m m (1/4 in.) and a length of 5, 10, or 15 c m . It is specifically developed to take advan tage of the properties of Spherosil sup ports with pressures under 700 psi. The LC-50 is equipped with minimum dead volume fittings, and injection ports are fitted with adjustable needle guides at a predetermined height in the column. Analabs, Inc., Foxboro Analytical 408

Spectrometers—Miscellaneous

Schedule for September 1979:

UV/VIS Spectrometer

Basic Gas Chromatography

Model 320 microcomputer-controlled U V / V I S spectrometer incorporates a grating-grating double monochromator. The instrument's resolution is 0.07 n m , and stray light is less than 0.0001 % Τ at 220 n m , providing a photometric range of 4.0 A. It includes as standard, first through fourth derivative, repetitive scanning, wavelength programmer with up to 10 wavelengths, concentration mode, built-in recorder, automatic pen positioning, and large sample compart ment.
