The tie that binds At Eastman we sometimes work so closely with our customers that it is almost like working with a part of our own organization. T h a t they feel the same way, too, is illustrated by the following incident: On receiving an order for 4,000 gallons of Tecsol to be delivered to one of our midwestcrn distributors at 8 A.M. the following day, we processed the order in the usual way. Shipment was made uneventfully. We learned only later that w h e n the ethyl alcohol arrived, 500 gallons of the 4,000 were pumped directly to a waiting tank truck to finish off a load of solvent blend that our customer had promised to one of his customers for early delivery that same day. He was so sure we'd be on time—so he could make his delivery on schedule—that he'd loaded his tank truck with everything except the 500 gallons of Tecsol. The tie that binds Eastman to its customers is service.
