WACO REFRIGERATED

BATH

The radiological laboratory, separated f r o m the radiation counting room, features stainless steel bench tops, California type hoods f o r soft radiation studies, and a concrete lead-lined storage well f o r radioisotopes. A m o n g other studies are those of tobaccos raised in a radioactive C 0 2 atmosphere

C i g a r e t t e smoking machines, designed by The American Tobacco Co., are now in general use as a standard t o o l . The smoke is filtered and the amounts of solids and nicotine are determined

WALL COOLING is employed rather than a coil! Heat transfer is spread over a large area, and consequently there is a minimum temperature differential. Faster cooling or heating. Wide opening. No room is lost to a coil and diffuser panel. VERSATILE WACO BATH is used as a reaction site for organic syntheses, as a bath for the determination of physical constants, for bio-chemical procedures, ASTM tests, etc., for supplying constant temperature circulant to viscosimeters, refractometers, etc. A 3i2 h.p. hermetically sealed compressor is used. An easily adjustable magnetic-setting mercury triermoregulator provides temperature control of ± .05° C. Heating element permits operation above room temperature. Inside dimensions are 29" long X 14" wide X 10" deep. All controls are conveniently arranged at one end. No. N-884 WACO Refrigerated Bath, for 115 volt, 60 cycle current $955 No. N-884-1 WACO Refrigerated Bath, same as #384 but with built-in centrifugal pump, delivering 5 g.p.m. at zero head $985 Many modifications have been supplied. We CUSTOM BUILD to YOUR specific application and YOUR requirements, as to dimensions and operating range. WRITE FOR BULLETIN N-6.

A n a l y t i c a l laboratories analyze everything that goes into cigarettes, cigars, and pipe tobacco including glycerine, essential oils, cocoa, chocolate, licorice, sugars, and sirups. Adhesives, inks, pigments, paper, packaging materials are examined also. Infrared spectrophotometers are used in these operations t o save time and simplify procedures
