NEW PRODUCTS brated to one part in one million, with out disturbing their original accuracy. Its knife edges are tooled to a tolerance of 0.00002 inch. The apparatus is set up in a room of constant temperature and humidity. Air currents are kept from disturbing the delicate balance. The 1500-lb. apparatus is said by the company to be complicated in design, yet simple enough in operation for use by unskilled labor after a few minutes P-49 of instruction.

FOR RESEARCH AND PROCESS CHEMISTS, TEACHERS AND STUDENTS Construct all existing organic forms . . . many inorganic forms . . . easily and quickly . . . and with less expense. First to realistically show the flexibility and compressibility of actual atoms using pliable PVC.

Edmund Scientific Co. announces a hand spectroscope using diffraction grating replica having 13,400 lines per inch. The replica grating is mounted in an aluminum tube 4 1 / 2 inches long and V 2 inch in diameter, with a fixed slit. Suggested industrial uses include demonstrating spectrum to see various spectral lines of gases; recognizing transmission and absorption bands of colored glasses, filters, and dies; and identifying the prominent Fraunhofer Lines. P-50 Ionization Gage A flanged all-metal Bayard-Alpert type ionization gage with nonburnout thoria-coated iridium filament (FG200), or double tungsten filament (FG-200-T) is announced by Veeco Vacuum Corp.

ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY

The Veeco type "FG" gage is de signed for the high vacuum region (1 micron and less) and the ultrahigh vac uum region below 10~8 mm. Hg. The type FG-200 gage's iridium fila ment does not oxidize, so the gage is immune to the destructive effects of air, according to the company. The double tungsten filament gage, type FG-200-T, is used where accidental exposure to air
