The Beckman Flame Photometer is designed for use with the Beckman Model DU Spectrophotom­ eter. Samples in solutions are atomized in a specially designed sprayer and introduced into the hot oxygen-gas flame to excite the spectral lines of the chemical elements. The Spectrophotometer isolates these lines and measures their intensities relative to a blank or standard. Results are read directly on an accurately calibrated dial. Sample consumption rate is less than .2 cc. per minute. Complete analysis can be made on samples as small as 5 cc. Samples can be analyzed very rapidly, a rate of four samples per minute being maintained easily. A detailed bulletin giving complete information on the many advantages of the Beckman Flame Photom­ eter will be sent on request.
