Charged with air at 2 5 0 pounds, e v e r y Westinghouse r e f r i g e r a t i o n component is carried down into this u n d e r w a t e r inspection tank and proved pressure-tight.

In the power plant: Two L e c t r o d r y e r s * and Lectrofilters* DRY a n d C L E A N the a i r as it comes from the compressors, to be p i p e d t h r o u g h o u t the p l a n t for special purposes.

-70° F. dewpoint! That's how DRY they keep special-purpose compressed air at the new Westinghouse plant at Columbus, Ohio. Thus they make certain there's n o moisture in the air to impair the high qual ity of their refrigerators and freezers. A 23^" pipeline, painted green to indi cate DRY air, carries this air at 250 psi. throughout the plant. You'll see Lectrodryers similarly em ployed in manufacturing plants throughout industry wherever moisture constitutes a hazard. Storerooms, held at low humidity,

permit metals t o be stored without "dop ing", thereby cutting costs. Work areas, kept DRY, avoid staining and corrosion of bright metal parts. Production of electrical products is speeded up if insulation is dried with DRY heated air. The booklet, Because Moisture Isn't Pink, shows you many of these places where Lectrodryers are performing their DRYing function to advantage.
