Dry Ice and a Piece of Used inner Tube Dry ice is used in laboratories throughout the sciences. The main problem with its use is crushing it from a large block. If done in the open the process causes the pieces to spill and fly randomly, which can lead ta burns and excess carbon dioxide in the immediate environment. Further, sometimes very fine powdered dry ice is needed far cold finger appratuses; this is very difficult to achieve without a mess. We have overcome these problems by a very easy and cheap method that is used in Pakistan hy 'Falloda" sellers, who crush ice with it. All that is needed is a piece (50-60c) of an old inner tube from a car or van. ARer one end if the tube is closed by any rubber glue, the device is ready to function. Simply put the dry ice inside and crush it: it is quickly ready for use. Saaib Ali. M. Danish. and M. Mazhar ' Odala- :&am Unwers !y slamaoad, Paklstan
