This modular approach offers you a new flexibility in instrumentation. You start with the 900 Analyzer and just add one of the economical plug-in units to obtain the data you require. The 900 Analyzer offers flexible programming and precise temperature control while it records test results. Plug in one of the modules and you've got a "thermal analysis system." For example, there are three interchangeable cells for differential thermal analysis that cover a working range from - 1 5 0 ° C to 1200°C.

The Thermal Penetrometer Module provides information on the change of modulus as a function of temperature. Its measurements are comparable to Vicat and Clash-Berg data but you get them rapidly and with automatic recording. The T G A ( T h e r m o g r a v i m e t r i c Analysis) Module gives you both qualitative and quantitative data on the stoichiometry and kinetics of volatilization, thermal d e c o m p o s i t i o n and chemical reactions. Operating range of this module is to 1200°C in vacuum or

dynamic atmosphere. Other Du Pont modules include a Remote Cell for use in glove box or behind shielding, and a Visual Cell that lets you observe a sample during thermal analysis. (Additional modules are now under development. They will soon become part of this family of thermal analysis systems.) For more information write to: E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co.
