1966 ACS Analytical Division Summer Fellowships two awards of summer fellowships by the ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry are announced on page 65-4 of this issue. The winners, hlr. Allen G. Hiebert and hlr. James R. Birk and their research advisers, Dr. A. hl. Hartley of the University of Illinois and Dr. S. P. Perone of Purdue University, receirye our warm congratulations. I t is appropriate to point out that support for these fcllowships is derived from private and organizational contributions to a special fund administered by the ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry. Divisional members are invited to make contributions a t the same time that they renew their divisional memberships. But since the subscription list of ASALYTICALCHEMISTRY is much larger than the membership roster of the Division, two thoughts are brought t o mind. First, any of our subscribers who would like to make a special contribution for this purpose are invited to make their checks payable to the Division of Analytical Chemistry Fellowship Fund and send them to Professor Charles V. Banks, Department of Chemistry, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, 50010. Second, the Division welcomes additional members whether or not they are members of the American Chemical Society. A leaflet describing divisional activities is available from Dr. Frank A. Guthrie, Chairman, Membership Committee, ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry, Rose Polytechnic Institute, 5500 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, Ind. 47803. It is to be hoped that substantial numbers of our readers will avail themselves of one or both of these opportunities t o support the science of analytical chemistry. HE FIRST
