Editorial est wishes to everyone from the Biomacromolecules team as we welcome 2018 and hope to bring you another year of new and exciting content at the interface of polymer science and biology! We continuously strive to be of the highest quality and the most trusted venue for polymer research. Last year, we presented some thematic issues to highlight the latest and most interesting topics in the field. We started 2017 with a joint virtual issue on “Polymer Bioconjugates in Biology and Medicine” (http://pubs.acs.org/page/vi/ polymerbioconjugates) in collaboration with the journals ACS Macro Letters, Bioconjugate Chemistry, Chemical Reviews, and Macromolecules. We hope that you enjoyed reading this collection of articles that provides insight into the latest progress in combining polymer synthesis with sophisticated biological macromolecules to develop the next generation of bioconjugates. Biomacromolecules also published the virtual issue “Innovative Polymers for Controlled Release Applications“ (http:// pubs.acs.org/page/bomaf6/vi/innovative-polymers), a compilation of manuscripts published during 2017 by young scientists. The issue was associated with a meeting organized by our Associate Editor, Professor Zhiyuan Zhong, The Fourth Symposium on Innovative Polymers for Controlled Delivery (SIPCD 2016), which was held September 23−26, 2016 in Suzhou, China. This conference was dedicated to discussing the cutting-edge development and challenges of innovative polymers for controlled release purposes, which broadly included controlled drug and gene release, diagnostic imaging, and tissue engineering and regeneration. At this meeting, 12 Rising Stars (
