she returned to the UK to take up a Royal Society Fellowship at the University of Cambridge, and then in 2009 she moved to the University of Warwick through the appointment of an EPSRC career acceleration fellowship. She was promoted to a full Professor in 2012 and very recently moved to her current position in Birmingham. Over her career, she has received a number of awards, including the IUPAC-Samsung young polymer scientist award in 2012, in 2013 the American Chemical Society Mark Young Scholar award, and in 2016 the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Gibson/Fawcett award. In 2017, she was the first female winner of the Macromolecules/ Biomacromolecules Young Investigator award in recognition of her innovative research in polymer science. Prof. O’Reilly is a leader in the development of synthetic methodologies for functional polymer materials and engineered polymer nanoparticles. Her broad expertise includes polymer self-assembly, DNA-templated chemistries, and responsive polymers. Welcome, Rachel; we are thrilled to have you on the team!

hat a month I have had! I have truly enjoyed getting up and going as Editor-in-Chief and have been making progress working my way up the learning curve. Thanks to all at the ACS for making the transition so smooth. From the journal office to production to marketing to the leadership at ACS Publications, everyone has been quite helpful. A special thanks to our Managing Editor Dr. Paulomi Majumder, who has been educating me about, well, everything this job entails. We have been implementing a few behind the scenes production protocols here at Macromolecules in an effort to get manuscripts ready for publication, and this will hopefully help authors (and editors) decouple scientific issues that need addressing from formatting and other logistical matters in going from a submitted manuscript to published paper. Once again, I welcome your input on how we can be even more authorfriendly. One of my first duties as incoming Editor-in-Chief was to appoint a new cohort to the Editorial Advisory Board. You will see in the updated masthead page associated with this issue that we have some new names on this board and that the entire group represents a diverse set of experts. I look forward to their advice and input. Also, with my departure and Prof. Jane Lipson’s departure from the Associate Editor team, I had the responsibility to identify replacements. I am very happy to report that this is now done, and I would like to introduce them both here.

I am also delighted to welcome Prof. Glenn H. Fredrickson from the University of California, Santa Barbara, as a new Associate Editor. Glenn received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Florida and Stanford University, respectively. He joined AT&T Bell Laboratories in 1984, rising to the position of Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff, and subsequently moved to the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1990. Glenn is currently Director of the Mitsubishi Chemical Center for Advanced Materials and Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering and Materials at UCSB. He is a leading authority on theoretical polymer and soft material science and a recipient of major research prizes from the American Chemical and Physical Societies, the Materials Research Society, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and by election to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and American Academy of

I am delighted to welcome Professor Rachel K. O’Reilly from the School of Chemistry at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom as a new Associate Editor. Rachel received her B.A. and M.Sci. degrees in Natural Sciences and Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, and then she completed her Ph.D. under the direction of Professor Vernon Gibson at Imperial College, London, in 2003. Shortly thereafter, she moved to the United States to undertake an 1851 Royal Commission postdoctoral fellowship under the joint direction of Professors Craig J. Hawker and Karen L. Wooley. Arts and Sciences. His research has most recently led to fieldbased computer simulation tools that enable the design of advanced mesostructured polymer materials. Glenn has consulted widely in the chemicals, materials, and medical device sectors and has served on or chaired a number of corporate science/technology advisory boards. During the period 2014−2017, he served as Chief Technology Officer and Managing Corporate Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation. He is currently a Member of the Board of MCHC.
