Editorial Note It has been a great pleasure handling the editorial responsibilities for this Royce W. Murray Festschrift Issue of The Journal of Physical Chemistry. The issue is a great and fitting tribute to Royce Murray, as is clearly evident from the exceptionally fine collection of contributors and manuscripts; the broad scope of Royce Murray’s scientific interests and accomplishments is also evident in the range of topics covered by the Festschrift manuscripts and in the list of his publications and colleagues. Royce Murray has set an excellent standard for all physical chemists for scientific achievement, integrity, and productivity. On behalf of the editorial staff of The Journal of Physical Chemistry, we wish him well on his 65th birthday, and we are grateful to Guest Editors Robin L. McCarley, Debra R. Rolison, and R.
