Gary D. Patterson Gary Patterson is Professor of Chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University. He is the immediate past-chair of the History of Chemistry Division of the American Chemical Society. He is Chair of the Heritage Council at the Chemical Heritage Foundation. His previous edited books with ACS Books include “Characters in Chemistry”. His latest book is “Paul John Flory: A Life of Science and Friends”.
