Correction Electrochemical Sensing of DNA Hybridization Based on Duplex-Specific Charge Compensation Nokyoung Park, Jong Hoon Hahn (Anal. Chem. 2004, 76, 900-906)

The authors have a retraction on the results presented in the paper. The DNA hybridization sensing method described in this work is poor in reproducibility. The estimate of reproducibility is ∼30%. Cyclic voltammograms of the paper represent best results. We have found that reproducibility is sensitively affected by preparation of thiol-linked ssDNA monolayer on gold and that a mixed self-assembled monolayer of ssDNA with spacer molecules is highly recommended for getting better reproducibility. We deeply regret that we neglected to mention the poor reproducibility of the sensing method and that the results in the paper should not be relied upon by the readers of the journal. The authors appreciate very much the attentiveness of Professor Richard M. Crooks of Texas A&M University in bringing it to our attention. AC051536B 10.1021/ac051536b Published on Web 09/28/2005
