Emery Polyamide Resins set new standards in hot melt adhesives Emery helps improve hot melt adhesives with four new high performance Polyamide Resins: 3792-R, 3794-R, 3795-R, and 3796-R. They offer excellent elongation, uniform viscosity and outstanding viscosity stability, plus high bond strength. Characteristic stress-strain behaviour of Emery 3796-R compared to a leading competitive resin is demonstrated above by ASTM D-1248-63T test*. The Emery 3796-R specimen exhibits 645% ultimate elongation and 2900 psi ultimate tensile strength, compared with 525% ultimate elongation and 2000 psi ultimate tensile strength for the other specimen. Emery 3796-R also exhibits excellent viscosity stability. For example, this resin typically shows less than *Type "C" dumbbell pulled on universal tensile testing machine at 70°F, 50 % relative humidity at 2 in. /min. 8

3% viscosity increase after being held molten at 375°F for 24 hours in the presence of air, with absence of skin formation. Tests also prove the bond strength of Emery 3796-R is very high for most combinations of metal, leather, wood, specific plastics (including treated polyolefins), and textile substrates. All four Emery high-performance polyamide resins offer these additional advantages for hot melt adhesives: fast setting characteristics, high impact strength, low water absorption, good electrical properties, dimensional stability, sharp melting point, solvent and product resistance, and retention of physical properties on aging. Emery Industrial Esters offer versatility, variety, and quality

Six Empol® Dimer Acids presented in colorful n e w brochure by Emery

Emery Fatty Esters perform well as emulsifiers, wetting agents, defoamers, softeners, and lubricants. They are widely used in the textile, paper, leather, paint, plastics, and other industries. These esters are derived from the finest quality Emery fatty acids and manufactured to exacting standards, assuring the batch to batch purity and uniformity essential for consistency and perfection in finished products. Each has been thoroughly use-tested and proven, both in Emery's laboratory and in the field, to provide you with maximum processing ease, efficiency, and economy. Emery has just published a 12-page brochure presenting the specifications, characteristics, and applications of Emsorb,fi) Sorbitan and Ethoxylated Sorbitan Esters, Emerest® 2322 Butyl Stéarate, Emerest 2400 Glycerol Monostearate, Emerest Polyethylene Glycol Esters, and Emery Oleate Esters. Emery now offers six standard grades of dimer acid. The 36-carbon structure and high molecular weight of this unusual aliphatic dibasic acid contribute a variety of profitable properties to polyamide and polyester polymers, epoxy resins, urethane intermediates, soaps, corrosion inhibitors, surface coatings, and other products. The six Empol Dimer Acids are fully described in a new brochure which also details dimer acid chemical reactions, useful application data, and helpful information on storing and handling.
