A small quantity of finely powdered crystals are heated in a test tube. Or finely powdered ammonium dichromate can be mixed with a little glue and molded
into a pyramid; it then burns like a miniature volcano. Oxidation without Oxygen. When small bubbles of chlorine and acetylene come into contact under water; they ignite with brilliant flashes of light. Use tanks with needle valves, admit the gases through rather small, individual orifices at the bottom of a 3-foot tube of water so that the ascending bubbles come into contact with each other. Perform the experiment in complete darkness.
