For optimum accuracy this balance utilizes a pendulum-type mechanism. Good insurance against load deflection is provided by hardened tool steel points, polished agate bearings, and cast loadsupporting elements. Positive level and firm support are assured by a built-in bull's eye spirit level and adjustable feet. The chart is graduated 500 grams χ 1 gram nonius divisions metric and 1.1 lb. χ
