ethylene oxide adducts They are a family of seven They are the Dowfax® 9N nonionic surfactants. There's Dowfax 9N4, 9N6, 9N9, 9N10, 9N15, 9N20 and 9N40. Seven, in all. The number following the " N " is the average number of moles of ethylene oxide condensed per mole of nonylphenol. Dowfax 9N9 surfactant is the most versatile and widely used member of the series. However, other members also display valuable properties and performance characteristics. Moreover, two or more of the Dowfax 9N surfactants' may be blended to achieve desired performance. As a result, the Dowfax 9N surfactants find use in a multitude of applications, and in a great number of industries.
