Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is characterized by various combinations of sensory, autonomic and motor disturbances. Pain disproportionate to the severity and duration of the inciting event is the most devastating symptom. Diagnosis of CRPS is difficult as the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. To try to derive metabolic indicators potentially characteristic for CRPS, we applied capillary electrophoresis time-of-flight mass spectrometry (CE-ToF-MS) to the explorative analysis of urine.
